Media Of The Month
I started calling this page CD of the week, then realised that was a) outdated, b) inaccessible to modern car drivers and c) not in keeping with DJing - consider me chastised - this is a monthly update of our favourite media
010. VQ - login.jp
I knew within 5 seconds of listening and watching to this that this video deserved to be here. This is exactly the experiementation that Northampton needs.
I don't need to say anything else - just watch the video

09. Dave Seaman and Luke Chable - Therapy Sessions
This was a formative mix for me, made back in 2005, it didn't hit until years later what i'd heard. A fantastic combination of funky progressive and breaks. I remember visiting the Bomb in Nottingham at the time for Phil K - who actually mixed a disc of Vol 1, that was a university experience again that I didn't appreciate until much later - especially with Phil K passing away. Vol 2 has stayed with me for a long time in my Soundcloud playlist favourites - and I still go back to some of the tracks to play regularly - Uberzone!!!!

08. Optimo - How To K*ll The DJ - Part 2
Its number two for the Optimo representation on the media of the week! And its number one for me figuring out how to put a video in here - so you don't have to be transported to another page to listen to an astounding near 50 track mix from Optimo! Famed for crossing many genres, this certainly lives up to their reputation. Now that Keith has sadly passed away i'm curious to know where Jonny will take the name.

07. Underwater Records Episode Two
Underwater Records represented a funky but tough approach to house, often recognised at the time by Fatboy Slim and other majors, the label doesn't seem to have kept the status it once had, here's the episode 2 from the fantastic CD mix community on Soundcloud

06. Optimogeddon
https://www.mixcloud.com/michael-ohare5/optimogeddon-the-final-optimo/
7hrs capturing the final Optimo, the legendary Sunday night at the SubClub hosted by the duo on 25th April 2010. Playing host to a huge range of music and DJs, they provided a night to aspire to - watch this space....

05. DnB Dubs
A unique concept - take dnb tracks back to their roots, strip the speed and focus on the history. Free to download, these and other releases are fun to drop into dnb mixes.

04. Bjorn Torke - Northern Chill
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E76MXhoJkjw&list=RDE76MXhoJkjw&start_radio=1
This mix came on a free CD on the cover of DJ Mag Aug 2003 (23 years ago!). It opened my eyes to a whole new scene that only really got recognised more than a decade later with the explosion of Todd Terje.
03. 6 hours of David Mancuso
Its a beautiful thought - 6 hours of someone now in the sky being the soundtrack to your morning, afternoon or evening, We've not lost a lot of big name DJs so far - this is the one of the first and will never be the biggest - but deerves to be talked with respected

02. Shitmat
https://soundcloud.com/shitmat/dj-shitmat-live-at-bang-face-weekender-2023
This needs to be heard to be believed, there was no other way we'd want to kick off the launch of the website with a joke...

01. 2 hours of Ricardo Villalobos
This is 2 hours, or 2 hours 2mins to be precise of Ricardo. Now followers of RV may equate that to roughly 5 of his typical 30min tracks - but you'd be wrong - its 41 of his tracks of all lengths! Its an intense listen but we needed something diverse to kick the website off:
