The Lab
Creativity is the greatest rebellion in existance! A great opening line from their website, The Lab is uniquely set within the backstreets of Northampton centre, a short walk from Aldi (bonus!) and The Charles Bradlaugh. It has a busy calendar of events through the week covering all genres of music, especially indie.
Dance wise there is a monthly dub, dnb and jungle night.

The Black Prince
The Black Prince is probably the most well known music venue in the centre, centring mainly on rock and with a full calendar through the week it is a busy place. A true pub by day with a fantastic drinks selection including real ale and cider, with the occaisional matinee event, and popular venue by night with professional events run through the year.
Home to Murmur, a dedicated dnb monthly night, Weekend Breaks, a bar based monthly night, licence until 3am. There are large record fairs held monthly with the summer versions accompanied by the Vinyl Underground DJs through the day in the large beer garden.

Maule Collective
A fashionable bar and craft beer brewery slap bang in the middle of town on the good looking St Giles street. In house beers added to guest beers make for a formidable selection. The modern design interior wouldn't be out of place in the centre of London or Copenhagen. Weekly vinyl sessions from a variety of DJs.

Roadmender
The Roadmender is Northampton's equivalent of the O2, a sizeable venue hosting semi-major names across the board of all musical genres. Its the place to go for concert style gigs.

The Charles Bradlaugh
A large pub a short walk outside the centre of town, next to Aldi. A historic shoe factory converted to a Northampton Pub with delicious home-cooked food, car parking and summer trap Garden.
They hold regular dance related events and the occaisonal all dayer event.

The Lamplighter
Another historical back street pub serving food and with a great beer line up - Northampton is definitely not short of places with great selections. This is a fairly compact two level pub with weekly DJs and live music, bar style hours so the typical 9pm-1am sessions.
